We have a good friend who is a fellow foodie and travel lover. She came back from Italy totally disappointed by the food. “The food just wasn’t that good! I couldn’t believe it! It’s supposed to be Eat-A-LY!”. I was bummed out for her. We had a much better experience. Our secret? Fifty to sixty percent of my research when planning a trip goes into the food. The amount of food you can eat and your food budget while traveling are finite. So it’s important to choose wisely.

What are the local must-eat dishes? Where are the highest rated restaurants? Were the reviews all by travelers or were some by local patrons? Where is the best value for my dollar? What food tours are available? There are a lot of considerations to make for finding the best food when traveling, and even more so when you are on a budget.
